Kaolab's R&D department, compouned by Phd and engineers in video analytics, computer vision and image analysis,
actually works on new development axes with one goal: continuously improve our technology to offer you the most up-to-date video analytics solutions.
In particular, Kaolab works closely with Phyti team from CNRS "Institut Fresnel", who is
specialized in statistics and modelisation fields applied to image analysis.
French competitiveness cluster : innovative R&D projects
Kaolab is member of OPTITEC and PEGASE clusters and is implied in several projects finnanced by
french ministry of industry.
The CISA project: Autonomous and Smart Camera for Videosurveillance
Through Optitec cluster, Kaolab leads a project on the realization
of new generation of smart cameras: very high resolution, specially designed fisheye lens and embedded powerfull video analytics.
Disruptive technologies are numerous, stakes and repercussions are important. Future in video security and video analytics is based
on these cameras.
The ADOPIC project: construction works' inspection by unconvetional image analysis
The construction wors' inspection (ex: bridge, viaduct, smokestack, dam, etc.) could be tiresome, tricky and dangerous
because of of overall inspection's conditions. Using drone technology is the way to follow in future. In this project, supported by
Pegase cluster, Kaolab, as a partner, develops new tools in image analysis to
find and identify defaults and for the in-flight control/command.
The DRON'X0 project: Aerial surveillance for forest fire
At the time of a forest fire, the reaction time is essential, but it's impossible to everywhere at anytime.
Drone technology allows to get images whigh large field of view. Kaolab has developed some specific tools
in infrared and visible image analysis to detect forest fire in real time and to warn fire brigads.
